Default why would someone swap an ls non vtec?

hey guys

im looking to pick up another civic, ive heard of ls/vtec swaps, but apparantly the motor in the 99ex is only an ls?

i dont see any benefits to this? why would someone just swap an ls for the ~10 extra hp?

am i missing something here?

thanks

Torque ****
k put your civic against my old ls swapped civic and while your 5+ cars behind me trying to catch up you will see why as you call it 10hp is better than the d series..

But hey i bought new car and iam currently boosting the d

As far as torque, it's the best bang for the buck!

2 cams
more displacement
stronger motor all together
cheap swap
good torque

my ls hangs right with b16 swapped ek hatches and it's built for boost but not boosted yet so ill say my $400 complete swap was worth it.

lol the missing bolts on the header are for a heatshield. No big deal. See if you can get a compression test done to it. See if theres any oil leaking from anywhere. Anyone else?

HAHAHAHA B18A/B with a B16A tranny is ghetto. What a way to expletive up a perfectly good commuter engine by raising the piston speeds too high so you can race STOCK B16A's. HAHAHAHA I can just see someone with that setup sitting on the freeway at 75 MPH destroying the bottom end of the engine, but thinking in his head "STOCK B16's ain't got **** on me."

I can tell you don't have VTEC...

Really? How is it "ghetto"? My friend has had his LS turbo with B16 trans for over a year now...

What do you think is the main reason why LS's feel "slow"?

I have a B16A right now and it sucks. I'll say it again VTEC isn't god's gift to cars

You sir, are the dumbest **** in this entire thread. How would changing your transmission raise piston speeds? It wouldn't. It would change the gear ratios, but 5000rpm is 5000rpm regardless of gear ratio.

Post count doesn't equal knowledge, meatbag. I find it pretty ironic that its the basis of your screen name...
