why vtec doesnt sound the same
does anyone know why vtec is never as loud when you do a swap. when a b18c1 is in a gsr the vtec crossover is a pretty recognizable sound but if you put that motor in a like a 92-95 dx bubble its not as loud. does it have something to do with wiring, because i know a lot of people with this same concern
Um. i assume your talking about the butterflies opening at 5700. because the vtec engagment at 4400 is barley audible on a gsr.
and its because the intake/header/exhaust isnt the same as on the teg.

i have the stock intake and header and it still doesnt sound the same the exhaust shouldnt matter because its the engine making the noise that im talking about
yea this is kinda of a weird ??
the civic xhaust is smaller, but your talking when you hear the intake just screaming in vtec, dwwaaaahhhh, the only thing i can think of that would make sense, is when they did the swap they didn't hook up the secondaries, it makes a difference. other than that, i'd say the intake itself, a cold air is queiter, b/c its longer, whereas a short ram is louder.

i've never really noticed this, every gsr swap i've ever heard sounds damn good, nothing like that sound of dohc in vtec screaming by at 8000rpm, especially a c5, even louder. i know this may sound stupid, but are you sure they have vtec hooked up.
