I live in Cali and I'm looking into getting a JDM motor for my swap. But I heard that you cannot smog cars in Cali because the VIN numbers don't match up or something. Please let me know if this is a mith or if its true or how I can still get the smog done. Thanks guys.

 

If you do a search there are alot of threads on this subject.

Bottom line is most refs will pass a JDM motor as long as it is has a USDM counterpart and is wired and hooked up like the USDM motor. IE sensors, vacuum lines, and such

Hey, I saw that your from NORCAL. I am still looking at prices for motors. Do you know anybody respectable up there that might have any B16A DOHC VTEC's. I have money, I just cannot find a person with a whole motor. I you know any people up there, would you please hit me up. Thanks again for the help.

you can pass jdm motors in cal, IM me for info or email me. also for the other guy if you see this I can get you motors if need be
