Re: who has a b18c in their 6g? (fowler)
97 gsr 96 civic dx
i have a 98 gsr helms manual, a 94 - 97 & 98-00 gsr haynes manual, and a 96-00 civic haynes manual..
there are several discrepencies between the two regarding the gsr harness.. several color changes, some wires exist in one and dont in the other and do in the harness. im guessing a few things changed from 97 to 98, i.e. the o2 sensor. it's giving me a headache.
i think i might have to bite the bullet & buy a 97 gsr helms.
should i have mate them wire by wire, or is there an easier way?
help.
TIA

Don't use the GSR harness. Run your stock harness over the GSR motor. All of the plugs should be fine.
Run the same OBD computer as your car and you'll be fine.
Add the specific wires for VTEC and the IAB. Everything should be pretty easy.
Trey has a website devoted to putting a GSR into a 6th gen Civic. Search for that and you'll be good.
Check out the Hybrid website. Very good info on what wires go where.
I'll post Trey's site if I happen to find it.

I have a 96 CX with a 98 B18c1. I hit a 14.3 with a check engine light. It runs better now but I haven't ran it at the strip since.
Again, what Wraith and fowler said, this will help you with the swap questions:

Re: who has a b18c in their 6g? (Trey)
it seems that half the plugs on my civic harness aren't long enough.
what was the check engine light for & what did you have done to your car?
