Whats a B series 1.8 vtec from a UK '96 5dr Civic called?
I'm after a B18c + NOS to go in my CRX to replace the B16a that came OEM I can get a whole writen off 1.8 vtec civic cheap through a mate.
My question is a JDM B18c is 178hp this B18 (I guess it is as the a B series 1.8?) is only 167hp I know Uk fuel wont help thats about say 10hp but is the motor different I.E pistons rods cams etc or is it just the zurst & the air filter? I've spent ages surfin to try & find the detailed spec of that motor does any1 on here know? The motor is 1797cc btw same as a B18c so I'm hopin it will be the same!
Also will my DC Sports 4-1 manifold fit a B18c it for a B16 Del Sol I think?

Bump any1 even on any web sites that have world wide honda motor specs?
As over here its the only B18 bar the Type R & they are silly money!

NO idea thats the problem its the only B18 we get over here bar the B18c5 but ppl want silly money for them so my plan is to get a B18c (which i hope this is) but i need to no what different b4 I buy as I dont wana buy a duff motor!

well look on the block and see if it is stamped b18c 4, if it is I believe that it is comparable to our b18c1(gsr).

Yeah looks like its a B18c4 so now I need detailed specs so I can work out why its only 167hp when the JDM motor is 178hp? Does any1 know any sites that have the differences listed I've searched for ages & found nothing so far!

Good luck I contacted Honda europe about this same engine and all I got were the ps and Nm figures.As far as being able to find it by name you'd have to search in europe since the jdm had no numerical designations an the motor wasn't released in the U.S.
