What speedometer cable do I use for my h22a civic?
I just bought my civic with a blown h22 in it, and it didn't come with a speedometer cable. I was wondering if I use the stock civic one, the prelude one or a different one. I'm sure this has been ask before, but I searched throught the h22a swap section and didn't find anything.
I appreciate the help.

Speedometer cable? There should be one there already regardless if the h22 was blown or not. Does the gauge cluster not work or something? Not really following what you're asking.. Unless you have your terminology wrong.

it doesnt have a speedo cable. nor does a 92 civic.
on all those cars there is a sensor ont eh tranny that has a 3 wire plug and that provides speedo signal to teh ecu and gauge cluster.

All my gauges work except for my speedometer. So what do I need to do to get it working? I just got a new h22 engine in my car last night from hmotorsonline.

are you getting a check engine light indicating a VSS trouble code? if so you may have a bad vehicle speed sensor or it not be plugged in. if you dont you may have had your speedo fail or you have a shorted wire.

thanks 4vlu3s, I used to drive a 1985 honda accord. I'm not used to FI cars, lol. Yes, I know that I'm a DUMBSHIT! hmmmmmm, If I had a short would that effect other things in the gauge cluster?

I would still jumper your maintenance plug, just to make absolutely sure you dont have a code of some sort. If you still dont have a code, then its just like values said, its either the sensor or your wiring or its disconnected. Hopefully its as simple as that last one.

I found a plug that isn't plugged in! Where do I plug the speedometer plug, cause the plug is just sitting right near the tranny? And I can't find a spot to plug it in?

on the top of the diff right next to teh rear mount bracket is the location of the VSS. should be the same place teh old cable went into, jsut ahs a sensor there now instead of a place to clip teh cable in.
