i know the best bang for the buck is nitrous. but it depends.. with 2g'z u cant quiet go turbo or sc. with 2g'z u could get quiet a few bolt ons then put some nos....

intake - $50-200
header - $150 +
exhaust(full cat back system) - $300+
thats already $650 ... u could buy a nitrous setup for roughly $500+ do like a 50 shot on ur d16y8(ur current engine) this will all let ur car breathe better. inhale and exhale more air. (more air = more power) u might want to upgrade ur fuel system too... up to u... bigger fuel rail, bigger fuel pump, etc...

if i do exactly what you just said what will i be running...i did a bad thing i bought just a muffler some **** called medallion series...ive never heard of it...my friend told me i had a civic so the only thing to make it fast is engine swap and turbo....so how much will that affect me with that muffler instead of full exhaust...what will i run...
its hard to predict an even close to accurate time.. there are so many things depending on it.. but i will say if u do all those things.. u will be much faster than stock ov course. u might even surprise urself.. who knows... try it, and find out.
oh and ur frend isn't right about the ONLY way to make it fast is by swapping and turbo. although, i do agree that is one of many ways.

i pretty much dont know to much bout cars and stuff...explain in detail what nitrous would do and exactly how would it affect my times and racing people...how does it work...dont laugh

when i had my y8 in my ek coupe i had i/h/e and a 70 shot on street tires first time at the track ran 14.2 all day long, motor grnaded about 8 months later

I don't know, I've been hearing problems with the XT-550, from what I understand is once you hit 88 mph, you seem to end up time traveling. Weird...

Nitrous is the best bang for you buck, but it can be hell on your motor. If you get Nitrous it wouldnt be a bad idea to upgrade your exhast and and intake as well so you will get the most from your system.
Nitrous works in 2 ways to boosts your HP 1st of all nitrous is cold as ****, and the colder air makes a more dense charge of air enter your engine (kinda like a cold air kit...only like 100 degrees below 0). A nitrous molicule is 2parts Nitrogen and 1 part Oxygen, this is the other way it makes power. The Nirtous dumps mass amounts of oxygen into your engine, letting you add more fuel therefore making more power.
However, Nitrous if not used correctly can screw you engine up. With the air charge comming in at like -100 degrees then going to the normal combustion temperature in a split second exposes your engine to a greater range of temperatures and makes then more prone to failure. Changing your sparkpulgs and an ignition retarder with help save your engine, but before you do anything, talk to someone who has a lot of experiece with Nitrous and get there opinion and help

There is a replacment for displacment it is called technology,and quality(did I mention power to weight?).Two things the domestic market has seriously been lacking.OK now go ahead and site the two or three cars on the domestic market that have both.....are you done good,your boring me so could you please get your rustang off my lawn now,thanks.As for the kid pouring every dime he has into his car to stomp the people who are talking ****,it takes more than money whippersnapper and if you got guts then guts is enough but I tell you this you had better get yo **** straight before you jump off the porch and start running cuz.
Hmmmmmm.........true technology does help make power, but when it comes down too it.....cubes are the basis to all power, the more you have the more power you can make. You can make your little damn 2.2 make 600hp and your cool 350 lb-ft. Where as i could make my 5.0 push 500 horses and 600 lbs of torque in a car that weighs under 3gs and own your *** all day long. When it comes down to it more cubes = more power. I would like to see your imports do nothing more than a simple bolt-ons and a supercharger and run 10s with reliability.....yeah... thats what i thought. I dont see import classes that use near all stock parts....even down to the cam, and go 10s

Comparing civics and mustangs is not fair for either because the design intention for both is different. The Mustang is a cheap Sports car, and the civic is reliable and fuel efficient. (Even my hybrid gets 25-28 mpg sometimes.)
The 5.0 V8 is crude, bulky and consumes a lot of gas when you use it as a daily driver. ( which is what cars are 90% of the time). True you can make a lot of HP but practicality will suffer because the design is very dated. Even ford is coming out with multivalve motors that are smaller and more efficent.
