What shold a CRX w/ modded jdm b16a run in 1/4
Reason I ask is because my friends CrX has something wrong with his. He is losing to bolt-on Si's, and my CL! He has 96 JDM b16a, 96 gsr tranny, msd ignition, stage 2 clutch, 9 lb. flywheel, type r pistons, e/i/h, and some gay rev chip that lets him take it to 9,500. (and 19" rims) He can't decide on show or go. But still, this car should be pretty quick, but it's not. His gear ratios are sooo long. My CL's best time is 15.7, and I beat him, so something has got to be wrong with his car. One of you experts has to have some idea. Any advice will help! Thanks!
Heres his car:

If he revs it to 9500 rpm, that's his problem right there. 19" rims aren't helping anything.
HTF can you even fit 19's on a CRX?????????
It still wouldn't be terribly quick though.... high 14's is what I've seen from 85% of them. Some of them are quick though

he needs to loose those 19's for sure. with a gsr tranny and 19's powered by a 1.6 litre engine with no torque it must feel like driving a dx.
tell him to get some light 15's and a b16 tranny and he should be in the mid tp low 14's with the mods you listed.

yeah, he plans on getting some 15's for racing. So are you saying the gsr tranny is what is causing the long *** lagging gear ratios?
he has molded fender flares to fit the 19"s

No. The big problem is those HUGE rims. They completely throw off his gear ratios... this makes a particularly big difference b/c he is using a B16 which has very little torque (comparatively). Tell him to ditch the rims and see how it does...

Re: (Xian)
the b16 tranny has noticablely shorter gears than a gsr tranny and then on top of that, having the 19's will make the final drive about 4.2 instead of 4.4. that lenghtens each gear. i bet it would run in the high 15's at best the way it is.

the rims and the fact he has a 9500 rev limit and im willing to BET he hasnt touched the head.
he has probably destroied the internals of that engine.

Looks like he is running a 1st gen b16 and a cable tranny not a 2nd gen with a hydro GSR tranny.
Like they said, take off the chrome 19's and he'll run better.
