Default what makes more sense to you?

Im just curious, Im already in the process of doing my new swap, but what would you rather pay for, integra type r swap or rb25det/rb26dett?, hmmmm

B18C5=170whp if your lucky, no torque, 5G's, pretty nice swap.....OR

RB25DET/26DETT entire front clip anywhere from 2500-4500shipped, 550+whp on stock internals and a **** load of torque. With the tomei stroker kit it can push 1000+hp, or you can drop like 10G's on a race motor from tomei and never worry again.

makes you think huh? more hp for your dollar.

I dunno...its a tough choice, if I had a hybrid plan to do over again, the Silvia is a definite plan to look at. And either plan you choose, you still end up (I would at least) dropping twice the cost of the initial swap on suspension/chassis/brakes/safety gear/etc....

*but there is no way your gonna get 550+whp out of a sr20det for under $5000. total, I mean come on... you'd have to buy a front clip for $4000 and then drop another $3000 or more for that kind of power WITH reliability. And whats a RB25DET swap? How is it possible to get 550 whp worth of swap for under $4000....

the RB25DET is the skyline GTS-T motor and it makes anywhere from the rated 250hp-300hp+. I can get a whole front clip for under 3000. thats the whole clip mind you, not just motor and trans. If you do some simple upgrades you can get 550+hp, 400 is easy. the sr20 is alright if you want to be like everyone else, but id rather have skyline power.

I've heard that the rb motors are hard to make fit in the 240's. If you do get it in there, there is a weight distribution problems. It is too long of a motor and to get the proper alignment it needs to be set back far and the firewall happens to be an issue. All from what I have heard...

alright.

First off do you know how much that stroker kit costs? It's around 7 or 8g's

2.) You'll need a custom fuel system

3.) An ecu programmed to allow your engine to handle 1000whp

4.)A nice big turbo (t51R-spl would be my choice off reviewing) or 2 biggies

5.)Tranny, gonna cost you over 10g's

Personally here's what I would do. Trash any idea of the rb unless you're gonna get a skyline through motorex, which, I don't recommend considering they sell you overpriced junkyard skylines. The 240 would be nice with sr20det which, for LESS then u'd ever think will put you into the 9's. But man, listen to me when I say, trash ur idea of a 1000whp skyline because unless you have around 30g's, it's not happening. Stick to hondas or get a 240 and swap in the sr20det

my msn James_Pyett@hotmail.com if you wanna talk more...just plz, don't get this image in ur head of an automatic 1000hp skyline because it WON'T happen. But if you DO want to do this and have the funding to carry out your project may I refer you to my new found special list of what you'd want engine wise.

TOMEI SPECIAL TITANIUM ENGINE STORKER KIT 2.7L
HKS T51R SPL TURBO KIT
CUSTOM FUEL SYSTEM
TOP SECRET 1000 HP COMPUTER SYSTEM
BLITZ 1000CC INJECTORS X6
HKS BLOW-OFF VALVE X2
GREX OIL COOLER KIT
TOP SECRET TITANIUM EXHAUST SYSTEM
HKS INTERCOOLER

Before you may start going against what I say, realize, I am a nissan fan, not a honda fan, but I have goen EASY reading posts that look like 4 monkeys learning how to turn on a computer.(Sry for the arrogance)

Stick to honda...But if you want nissan, I suggest reading into it, you'll realize it more then a crappy b16 and some "naazzzz"

Oh and for the little boy that said the sr20 needs reliability read up, the sr20 has more ***** then any honda motor made . It handles 450hp+ on stock internals and is a boost junky . Face it

Honda into 9's, tin can
nissan into 9's full interior (street legal)

(not posted by the baron, but by some lazy fool!)

tell that to my friend who has one in seattle, and he has been running it for over a year now. his second run at the track on stock 6psi netted him a 12.9, and then he turned the boost up to 10psi and ran a 12.6. i know my hondas, my civic can push 25+psi and Ive pushed 450+whp dozens and dozens of times on the dyno, my car probably has more dyno time than street time lol. the fact is, you cant push that kind of horsepower on the streets and expect it to last. Im a boost junkie plain and simple, and i want more street horsepower. 300hp isnt enough!!

You can't compare a factory turbo engine to NA powerplant, thats like comparing apples to oranges.

I want a SR20DET 240.....maybe when i quit dumping money in my crx...
