Re: what ecu for b20
apearently the P75 ecu is a little rich for the B18b so its only a touch lean on the B20. I wouldn't risk it though a chip kit with basemap from an online retailer is less than 50$ and if its a mostly stock motor they can probably get the basemap closer than the P75 would be stock.

if your obd-0 use a pr4, if you are obd-1 use a pr4 or p75 whatever comes easiest to you. if you are getting a p28 cheap get it save it till you go vtec or sell it/trade it for said ecus with money on their side. treat it like a bored over b18a/b your splitting hairs otherwise

cmon now people, this aint' that complicated. Get the P28 chipped and have a B20 bin loaded. 72 bucks through xenocron and your done.
that way you have the P28 if you ever have the need for the vtec capability, but it'll operate a b20 just fine with the right bin loaded.

back from the dead lol didn't wanna start another thread
friend is gonna run a stock b20 shorty replacing his LS block..
should he run a p28 with a B20 pin, or p75??
or just use the LS ecu with some sort of FPR??

Re: what ecu for b20
I'm having the same issue, B20b running a PR4, it takes forever for my check engine light to turn off and allow the fuel pump to prime, at first I thought it was my PGMFI relay but I plugged in an old D15 ECU and it cranks instantly, just runs like ****

I would use the P3F ECU if you can... the intake manifolds are quite different, but it may work fairly well. If not, the next best stock ECU would be a P74/75. The P14 is totally wrong... and there would be codes. Ideally, you would use an OBD-1 style ECU with a tuning solution.
