Default what is the diffirence between the blocks: B18c and a B18c1?

i have a JDM B18c that needs new rings. and i have no money to rebuild it. and a friend of mine has a USDM B18c1 that is in his civic hb. and he wants to build his block up for boost. but he needs his car on the road with no down time.

so........................
he asked me if he could get my block off of me. and get it rebuilt. and when it is back. he will give me his block with a new headgasket. so it will not cost me any money for this to happen.

now i kinda don't mind doing that. but if my block is "better" to begin with. then i "will" mind doing that!!!

thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the JDM B18c equivalent to the US b18c5?

The blocks should be very similar. Only thing I can think of changing are some connectors for hooking it up if even that.

He's probably referring to the B18C Sir-G motor. The only difference is 10hp.

the JDM B18c is the same engine as the USDM B18c1(GSR) engine. the B18c has higher CR and 8-10 HP more then the B18c1.

i'm just not sure if my block(B18c) is better the then B18c1 block in any other way then higher CR!?!

thanks

Partially correct . JDM B18C is USDM B18C1 and C5. Only two ways you know for sure it's either one is by looking at the intake manifold or the P72 type stamped on the cylinder head.
