Now i have a b16 in it and the cable doesnt reach to where it belongs on the b tranny.. what should i do... I dont even know what it is called but i do know that if its not in the **** wont start....any help will be appreciated .. In the lower right hand corner ,, the cable that appears to in front of the fuel line....

Even though you don't say, I'm assuming you have a EF or DA? It would really help if you would provide at least this information when asking for help. To me it sounds like you are trying to swap a hydraulic transmission in there, that's why your vss isn't reaching, among other problems you are going to run into(ie cable tranny car and hydro tranny).

[QUOTE=brian g]It's not the VSS, that's built into the speedometer on your car. It's your speedometer cable. Buy one from a 90 Integra, it's longer.
Sorry about the missing information. It is a 88 hf crx. and its a cable transmission. I now know that it isnt the vss. the vss on this tranny is electric.
Im assuming its the speedocable. Ill just get the one from a 90-93 teg , and as far as the electric vss , what should i do about that? i dont have a plug on my harness for it. THanks for all the info.

Ok there is a spot on the front of the tranny that looks like the cable could fit into and at the back of the tranny it has the vss clip. on my hf tranny there is only a copper nipple (sortof) that the cable pluged into..its not bolted onto the tranny. Ill take another look at the d tranny i have... thanks again.
On your hf tranny the copper nipple should have been held down by a steel clip and a 6mm (10mm head) bolt. It's called the speedometer gear. The speedometer gear pulls out of the tranny and can be used in place of the VSS/speedometer gear on the B16A tranny. Then you can put the cable into the new speedometer gear, if it doesn't reach then use the longer 90 Integra speedometer cable.
