What is this?
Can someone tell me the name of this part and its purpose. It is on a B18b that i just install and is leaking radiator coolant from time to time. Weird thing is the B18b that i just took out of the car has the same fitting and then runs to the back of the block just underneath the intake manifold, but this motor doesnt have that tap on the back of the block. Any ideal????????

It should run to right next to the fat hose right below the arrows. Into the Intake manifold.

I hope this works. You can see where the fat hose goes near the number 4 runner on the manifold. Right next to it is a smaller hose.

thats what i am saying on my old B18b there was a fitting there for it, but on the new motor the valve is still on the throttle body but the fitting on the intake is not there. The big one is, but not the small one that it is suppose to run to. There is a place for one, but it has never been tapped and came from the factory without one. Was there an intake that was made like this maybe for a different model or something. I would think that if it had the valve there that it would have had to be ran to somewhere. Right now it is leaking coolant here and there.
Oh sorry dude. Well thats odd. You should be able to drill and tap a fitting on to it. Or like mentioned above you can by pass it. The other side should be cut off from the coolant flow as well.
I have a bare B18B manifold. It is completely naked. Let me know if you want to work something out.

thats cool how do i bypass it again, i know unplug from the other side, but then where do i plug in the other side of the valve ( inlet) i dont see me taking the motor back out just to tap something that doesnt really matter. Will this cause the car to throw a cel. Thanks for the help man i am so close to getting it back on the road.

Let me take a look at mine and I will let you know.
I know it controls cold idle. When the coolant is cool it keeps the RPMs up, then as it gets warmer the motor will idle down. After that the IACV takes over idle control, I think.

if you bypass that valve you will have idle problems when it gets cold out.during warm up.
well you live in tn so maybee you wont, but once it got cold up here i had to reconnect that.
