Weight of LS engine compared to a B16a?
Does anybody know how much more a LS engine weighs compared to a B16a?? I know that B18 swaps are very common, but I'm wondering if the weight of the B18b would be enough of a difference to adversley affect the handling characteristics of my 2000 EK coupe?? Anybody who has done this swap into an Ex feel free to share. Or anybody with the weights of both engines. Thanks.
The weight difference will be minimal. The two blocks are nearly the same, I think the b16 has a slightly shorter deck height. Other than that, the engines differ mainly through engine geometry and the vtec head.
Thanks ya'll.
I'm trying to decide if I want to swap in a B18B and turbo it or a B16a. I want the torque, so I'd much rather have the B18b. I just wanted to make sure it won't add too much weight and mess up the suspension geometry of my car should I want to do a little auto-x in the future. I'm planning on starting my project late December/early January. Thanks again. Ya'll have been a big help!

IMO, I would get the B16 so you are satisfied with the engine and power then turbo it. The B16's have proven themselves time and again that they can make great amounts of power.
