Vtec NOT kicking IN
i got a usdm GSR swap on my 2000 civic. im runnin it with a b16 ECU.
but my vtec is not kicking in. i had the ECU checked by the place where i got it. they told me that becuz i have the idiot light on that causes the vtec not to activate. the codes for the check engines are just for the O2 sensors. but when i put my other EX ECU on it kicks in ok.
is that truth that the idiot light prevents VTEC?
the car runs sluggish as hell. does anyone know when vtec is supposed to activate on a 99 Si (p2t) ecu?
thanks

Re: Vtec NOT kicking IN (CivicGSR00t)
the b16 ecu is looking for a knock sensor.. and the ex (p28) ecu isnt.
I would get the p28 ecu chipped.. or wire up the knock sensor to the ecu.
check the code the ecu is throwing. post it up .. let us know .
