Default VTEC-E SOHC 1.6? Ever heard of it?

Hey guys, came across this on Ebay. If the pic doesn't work use the link below. Call me stupid, but I've never heard of this motor. Anybody have specs?

yes its fuel economy vtec.

what that means is the engine runs on 3 intake vavles per cylinder instead of the normal 4, and when vtec "engages" the 4th one kicks in essientally making it a DX motor.

they came in the 96+ HX if im not mistaken.

Yep, it's the HX motor. There was a 1.5 JDM 92-95 VTEC-E motor that had a bigger intake manifold and more power than the USDM VTEC-E motor but still, it's a economy motor. That's why I have one collecting dust in my garage

That isn't an Hx engine.

#1...the injector clips are OBD1. Hx is OBD2

#2...Hx engine did not have that valve cover

Just looked at the rest of the pics...the ad says the car is a VX...that motor makes sense then.

If the car is a 92-95 VX hatch, then the block code would be D15Z1 and it's a 1.5L VTEC-E. The 96+ HX coupe had the 1.6L revised version of the VX motor.

Yeah I have that engine in my garage too. It came out of my 94 vx hatch. Before I did my swap it was the slowest turd on the road. It has the smallest TB ive ever seen LOL. Im glad its no longer under the hood of my car. Dont get me wrong though it is a very dependable motor and it gets awesome gas mileage
