Great project! Your solutions to various "problems" look real good/professional.
Have you considered doing something with the problem regarding camshaft limitations (not enough room for serious lift)? Bet you guys have the skills, experience and equipment needed to solve that problem in the correct way.

Re: Turbo J32A2 S2000 Build Thread
First I would like to say thank you for this thread. I have had the idea of a RWD J3xAx for over a year and until now have not see it being done. I was actually shopping for the engine just before I came upon this thread. My plan was to build just the engine/drivetrain package and then find a chassis to put it in. I am going to try a T5 Trans as they are just as cheap and plentiful as the J3x is and come in many ratios.
I would really like to ask you a few questions if that’s ok. First what did you come up with for the flywheel and clutch and second what are your thoughts on the starter. I can tell you that I have been really stumped about how to handle the starter and while your solution seems to be a good one, I wonder if there are other ways.
I wish you all the success in this project and will be following it closely. A RWD J3xAx is a no brainer of an idea, weight to power, size, superb engineering, cost, etc... When I start my build I will share my knowledge as well.

So that's good, an off the shelf flywheel bolts right on. But iv been studying your pictures and trying to figure out the spacer. it seems the there was enough material on the adapter plate to have the flywheel set into it and not need the spacer. Can you comment on that?

Re: Turbo J32A2 S2000 Build Thread
another thing just came to mind, if the starter is on the bellhousing side than it will need to spin the other way. If you had gone that route you would have needed the starter from the J32 and it would need to mesh with the flywheel teeth. id be surprised if it didn't though.

In my build i was planing on a custom bellhousing or a cut and splice bellhousing so if i can get away with not using a spacer i will.

BTW. I want to use my build in the Grassroots Motorsports $2013 challenge. I was thinking of putting it into an E30 BMW chassis. Oh man! I cant wait to see all of those BMW purists having a fit over such a Frankenstein creation.

I guess what i am getting at is, without the spacer AND without the adapter, can the flywheel be installed directly and not interfere with the crankcase?

Goal is 400hp/400tq on the first go around. Then cams, pistons, and rods for a bit more Turbo in the picture is a GT35R T4 undivided. Not sure if I will stick with that or buy a new one. If I buy a new one it will only be so it looks new, as the gt35 is perfect in size.

Thanks for all the info. I am not really a honda guy (just yet).I do drive an Odyssey though and thats where i got the idea from. I would like to say that this seems like a pretty good community you guys got here at honda-tech. I am going to go and learn every thing i can on th J series engine so that i get the right one from the salvage yard.
That brings me to just one more question and ill stop hijacking your thread here. - Do you have any advice on witch J motor lends it self best to the RWD application. you used the j32 but what about others. Can you rotate the intake on any of them? are the water passages all alike. are all the block castings the same... that kind of stuff. As far as power and cams and internals, I will do all that research.
