Default Totem traction bar for h22 swaps

Anyone have experience with the totem traction bar? Right now I think they only have it for 96-00 civic's. I saw their add on the dragsport magazine and gave them a call, the guy there is checking to see if the traction bar would be compatiable with the hcp mount that i'm using. He said that the company been out for awhile now just that they don't advertise that much and they are not really known in the states because the company is based in canada, but he told me that they are pretty well know in canada.

I never heard of the totem do you have a pic? I've seen the Jimfab and the lakewood traction bars on civics and I do think they would clear the oil pan, but I dont know that for a fact.

anyone know?

Its in the june issue of the dragsport magazine, they have a little advertisment on page 64. I know for sure that the z-10 bar won't clear, because some people have try it already. the totem bar looks like a regular traction bar, but it also have a front mount on it so you can hook it up to the front engine bracket, same as the HCP front cross member mount. So it serves as a front mount for the engine plus a traction bar

Default Here's some "Totem" for yah

I wasn't going to say anything until next week when we got some new picts, but here is one customer's car that had the Totem mount kit. Basically, they're a knockoff of the HCP mount kit. I don't know about their story about being around for years now, but I do know that they've been hitting up all of HCP's distributors (off of their website) saying that their kit is the best and better than everyone elses. HCP first debuted their EF kit (Gen I.... I had one in my CRX, the "new" Gen X style came out in 97) back in 1994, and then released a H22 mount kit in 1998, being one of the first on the market. I'm not saying that HCP is better than others, but here's one example of the knockoffs in action. Here's a pict of a car that kit in his car last week (we were sold out of the HCP EG-22 mount kit so he got something real quick so he can at least drive the car..... the other day, we gave him a set of HCP EG-22 mounts and we're going to take new picts of it on Monday)

The motor looks all ****-eyed and it's not even straight in the car. You can see the driver side mount is just thrown together, and that it doesn't even line up with the H22 bracket, and that it touches the frame rail bracket, thus causing a lot of vibration. We have a lot more picts of the motor & Totem kit with this car, but we're saving them for a complete write up of the Totem knock-off kit vs. the HCP kit. To answer the question if the Totem traction bars will fit with HCP mount kit.... Yes and No. Yes, because they're HCP knock offs and were copied from the original HCP mount kits, and No, they're probably won't due to the quality of how they made the mounts, and how it shows they put no R&D into their design or work to make sure that everything fit properly. Hell, I'd completely recommend the HASport kits over these knock offs, just due to the fact that at least HASport put some R&D work into their mount kits, thus knowing what what works and what doesn't - not just making a copy of someone else's kit and putting no effort into it. We're also getting a mount kit from ENJO and Avid, both look exactly like complete copies of the HCP mounts, but look poorly made...... More to come on this next week.

Heh, sorry. Been busy this week so besides that car, we need to get 2 other cars outta here after this weekend. Don't worry, I'm still doing a page with the comparsons and picts (already have most of it written up, just need to include some more picts and then I'll post it up as just an "comparason" page, not a page bashing one company over the other.
