Swapping B16a into my 92 Integra RS...questions!
Like the topic says, i just recently ordered a jdm b16a complete swap for my 92 Integra RS, and i have some questions concerning the install. From what i know (or atleast from what i was told) the b16 will be a easy direct drop in for my car. BUT...i also heard the wiring is going to be a pain in the azz. So my question is...can someone explain to me in detail the "wiring process", what must be done? conversion? I haven't gotten the engine yet because its being freight from Ohio. All i know is that the ecu is PR3. Can someone please help me?

Did you get an OBD0 or OBD1 motor? That will determine what sort of wiring issues you will be looking at.

this may help http://g2ic.com/tegtips/engine...e.doc
stuff to add for Vtec
Vtec Solenoid (YEL/GRN) goes to A4
Vtec Oil Pressure 2 wire (BLU) goes to D6 and Black goes to Ground
Knock Sensor goes to D3
here is some info I wrote up about the B18c1 swap I did into a 93 Teg maybe it will help. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=832876

thats the problem...i dont know. they didn't tell me. all i know is that it is a 88-91 JDM B16a1. Does that make any difference in finding out if it is obd0 or obd1?

It is an obd0 motor, so you will have to convert from obd1 to non obd. I have a 91 LS, which is obd0, and I got an obd1 b16a. I just ran the motor obd0 using the first gen ecu and distributor as well as a few other minor things from my b18a. I'm not up on the obd2 to obd1 conversion, but check with g2ic.com, a few good members helped me out during my swap!

oooooooo yeah..
you should really find out what "OBD" type your engine is. Its easy, really. Have the guys who you're buying your engine from tell you what color the distributor plugs are and what color the onboard PR3 ecu plugs are. If they're a GREY color, then you have the correct OBD1 cable B16A engine, which is kind of a rare engine.
If they're a dirty, milky white color, then its the older 89-91 B16A engine, which the electronics (distributor/ecu/injectors) will not be plug n' play compatible with your OBD1 DA.
