Swaped 1.6L Si SOHC motor into a DX crx. no spark.
ok, im a VW guy helping out a friend in the ol work shop with a CRX rocking a 1.6L SOHC swap (waste of time but whatever)...
for some reason or another we are not getting an fire.
injectors seem to be working properly however, is a new harness needed?
also the resistor box is installed and wired up, we were following the ZC swap guide.
my guess is the wiring... anyone with any tips or ideas?
thanks
Steve

My guess would be wiring as well, check over the wiring at the distributor. You never mentioned it, but I assume you are using a Si or HF MPFI distributor, if not you have to. Since the plugs are different and need switched, people sometimes get the 2 WHT wires backwards which will cause it to get no spark.

If you just wanted to make the car run with another engine, you could have just installed the engine and put everything back to how it was.
But, from what your saying it looks like you are converting the DX (dual port) into a SI (multiport). You will need the SI intake manifold with rail, injectors, regulator, all intake manifold sensors and the SI distributor.
Are you using the engine harness from the DX or did you get a SI or HF harness??
If your using the top harness from a HF or SI, you will need to wire power to the ignitor. On the DX, i believe its on the big plug by the resistor box and in the SI, its in a little square plug that on the other side of the engine compartment.
Do you have a check engine light??
If you need additional help, let me know. I might be able to help you out.
