Default Swap Wiring Nightmares

Well, I am a bit of a rookie, but am putting hybrid JDM/USDM ITR motor in my EF sedan. The mechanical bits are going OK as per the Helms manuals, but wow the wiring harness is a pain in the a--.

I mean you can hook up the obvious plugs but there is a bunch of miscellaneous crap that DOES NOT look like the Helms diagrams, plus a few of the termini will have to be fixed with new attachments.

Anybody with a lovely real world harness map ( I am using the 91 Si harness with added wires) - not the stupid wire output diagrams tho!??

Ok, being you have an EF OBD0, and swapping an OBDII motor, you have several options.

I'm assuming you're staying OBD0, what ECU are you running?

And also, what model sedan is it? If it's an EX or LX (I believe they had 'em in EF models), then you are already multi point converted.

You will need to grab yourself OBD0 fuel injectors, and also grab a 1st gen B16 distributor.

As for wiring VTEC, this depends on what OBD you plan on staying.

Please give more details, and we'll be glad to help you out.

Keep us posted.

Default Re: Swap Wiring Nightmares (poison)

thanks. i am running pr3 = obd0 ecu and have injectors, all this into an ex sedan

couple of false starts as i had a 91 ls integra harness (=WRONG) and jdm b16a - not into usdm wiring. now have the si wiring harness missing a couple of the end connectors, not perfect but hopefully workable if i transfer some of the connectors off the incorrect harnesses

when you read the helms it seems so obvious then you look at some of the wiring (missing a couple of terminals) and the going gets slow . i am looking at it tomorrow as i touch up a last few of the mechanical bits
