Ok jsut got done with a swap, a little background: CRX HF with a 1st gen B16, used stock HF harness and HAsport VTEC harness. Ok when it starts up it sounds like it has a burnt valve ( like a VW) ....so its getting fuel in every cylinder, its getting spark in every cylinder....all the plugs are dark black and smell like gas. Did a compression test and it was good all the way across. We are getting code 6, which is Coolant Temp. Now to what is weird when you put the car in reverse the motor almost dies and CEL comes on with the code 6. I've triple checked all my wiring, thinking it might have something to due with the MAP sensor, we used the one off the JDM motor and eliminated 2 wires, which should be cool since the ECU wouldnt have read it anyway... What are your ideas???

did you replace the thermostat on the engine? code 6....hm... i'm pretty stumped too. sorry

no I didn't replace the thermostat, ican try that, but ive had thermostats go bad before and they never through a code...

you need to rewire some junk at the ecu... i just unplugged my reverse sensor wires at the front of the tranny, reset the ecu and never looked back. everything works fine, i wired a relay from the tranny side of the plug to the reverse lights.

You have to unplug the reverse lights on the HF
