in order to swap a b18c1 into my ls, all i need to buy is an ecu and a gsr longblock, right? the tranny and everything else should mount up fine? this is my understanding, if i am wrong please let me know.

yes, correct. make sure you get the complete long block with header and intake manifold.

all you will need to wire is vtec, and everything else will clip right in
