STILL can't check CELs!
CEL stays on for about two seconds when 'on', flashes off, and then comes back on and never goes off.
It won't let me check anything....ECU never goes off even when I've got the connection jumped.
WTF could be the problem?
This is with my s200/P28. I made sure I didn't have the chip turned around the wrong way.

Does it do the samething when you plug in ANY other OBD-1 ECU? Even if you plugs in a stock Civic ECU, it should work just fine. Try another OBD-1 ECU to determine whether it's the P28 w/S200 (most likely it is) or if it's the car or motor, and then go from there. If it works fine with another ECU, then you know it's your Hondata ECU and you can go from there.

Nope, exact same thing on a few different ecus, and I know for sure one of them is good.

Guys, I'm jumping the ECU properly. I've been through this before.
Even if I wasn't, the CEL should go out after a few seconds with the key 'on', which it does not.
I leave in 4 days....I really need some help here.

It revs over 3k...I took it up to about 6K yesterday, sounded VERY weak. No VTEC, didn't want to see if it had premature fuel cut-off...it sounded bad enough at 5K.

I'm praying and crossing my fingers that it's just a bad relay.
Otherwise I'll have two completely useless ECU's

Same here, I still want you to roll thru Utah and we need to meet up at least for a lil bit

Oh yeah, for sure. I dunno if I'll have time on the way up, but if you're there around the 9-11th, we can for sure. I'll be way less pressed for time, as my friend is too anxious to see her parents again for us to stop on the way up. lol

So on the way back right? I'll be here on those dates. Heading over to SoCal 15-19th though.

UPDATE:
ECU is fine. Plugged it into a fellow H-T members car and got no codes, started up just fine.
Plugged his ECU into MY car, and same thing. Constant CEL...never goes off.
WTF could be the problem now?
All fuses are good.
Relays maybe? If not, I've got NO CLUE wtf the problem is.

Ya it's possible.

are EF main relay's the same? I've got a friend with a few EF's, and he'll already be over here tomorrow.

Ahh, I don't think so. I believe they are different.

Re: STILL can't check CELs! (Jonathan_EH)
Hey Jon
when you soldered in the socket are you 100% sure that no solder fell and bridged ANY connections? thats the only thing I can think of... use someone elses ECU... try the stock PO6 ecu and see if the CEL stays lit?

Hmm, well he's tried different ECU's, could be a wiring problem that he has done, I just find it strange. I sure hope it's the main relay.
Jon, you didn't have this problem with the other motor you had in there previously right?

Re: STILL can't check CELs! (poison)
Nope, and I didn't make any wiring changes that weren't already done before all of this happened.
It was all fine for I'd say a month. I had codes 41 and 36. lol.
Then it started doing this, and I just figured the ECU was fried or something, so I got the P28/hondata and it's doing the same thing. The socketing was done by Hondata and is very clean, so no problem there.
I also tried my ecu in another car, and it's fine. So it's something with my car that's the problem. I went through the wiring harness today, through anything I've done to it ever, and nothing is touching, everything is soldered nicely, and wrapped nicely.
So I dunno what the problem could be if it's not the relay. I wouldn't even have a clue as to where to look after that
