i broke my old starter at the bolt and installed a new starter. now the starter wont work from the switch inside the car.. if i turn the key to start it all i hear is the fuel pump but i can start it by touching the switch on the starter to a constant..i took it to firestone but they dont know anything there.. i was wondering if the fuel pump is supposed to click on with the starter or does it pressurize the system and start? anybody have an idea...

 

sounds like an issue that you may have hooked up the wires wrong on the starter or theres an issue with the switch.
