Skunk 2 ECU?
I have a 93 Civic Hatch with a JDM B16 gen 2. I hear that the Skunk 2 ECU is really nice i just wanted to see if anyone has it and what they say about it. Good or Bad? Thanks for the help!

Re: Skunk 2 ECU? (HRILSVTEC)
I have a P28 skunk 2 chip for my GSR swap and yea the gas mileage is noticably different but feels like it pulls much harder.I would recomend also getting the Skunk 2 manifold. That also will give you a big jump in power.

Re: Skunk 2 ECU? (Deomonte21)
I have the chip for my GSR (in a p28) and it does pull pretty damn good. I threw in a CTR intake cam and it got a bit better!
Oh, and I'm selling the chip on ebay right now if anyone cares:

Re: skunk ecu (JDM Civic Hatch)
There are some guys like myself that don't recommend raising your redline unless your valvetrane, and bottom end can handle it.
If you want a skunk2 chip, I can modify it for you to keep the factory redline, and I can also change the VTEC x-over point to your liking.
PM me if you're interested.

Does this program utilize all sensors?
for example...does the computer always run open loop? does it still take knock sensor readings to retard timing?
I have this program and was wondering these things. Also...the redline is set to 9500. (p72)
I have a fully built motor and love the program. It really pulls hard through the midrange and top end. ITR cams, stock ported intake manifold, TB, JG valvetrain and P&P'd head. Bottom consists of Eagle Rods and 85mm JE 11:1's.
After reading everyone's posts, I definately need a fuel controller.

I was wondering what it will raise my redline to? I heard 8,500 not 10,000. thanks <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/h-emblem1.gif" BORDER="0">
Just to clear that up its not a real Skunk2
Mine does red line at 10,000rpm

Re: skunk ecu (rolow)
VTEC and Rev limits can be changed by pretty much any Chipper. It's the fuel and ignition maps that are modified that make the most difference. I have a mugen program currently with a custom 8k rev limit on it, which is supposed to be 9k if it was like the real mugen program.

Also, Skunk2 does NOT make a chip for the LS or GSR specifically. The Skunk2 chip was designed for the P30 ECU, not the P72

Re: skunk ecu (B18C-EJ1)
My revlimiter is at 7 grand and i hear that the stock motor can handle at least up to 8,500. Fact or Fiction? Would it be safe runing it up to 8,500 cause i know honda motors can take a beatin but not sure about 8,500 RPM. I am runnin mobil synthetic oil i think that makes a diference. thanks

Yea, it matters. First off the auto b16 had crappy valve springs, so unless you've changed them, don't trust it.
Also, if you are using a P28 auto, and you have not converted to manual, that will affect the performance too.
