Sixth generation civics difference in swaps??
The way I do a swap for a sixth (96-00) civics on the wiring side is to unplug the entire wiring harness off the OBD2 GSR engine and the Stock civic motor then hook up the stock civic harness back on the GSR motor. Very tedious work is envolve while plug back and make sure each sensor is getting the correct pins.
The question is will there be a problem with 97 civic HX doing this swap. I not too familiar with this model, I have done DX, LX, EX civics and there is no problem except a few extra vtec wires and knock sensor. Can anyone tell me if I will meet a problem with this model?

Yea but the primary O2 sensor have five wires. isn't that mean I have a problem since GSR only have four and I'm assuming the GSR ECU only take four too. Oh, remember, I'm using the civic engine harness with the civic main harness, no GSR wires at all because the civic don't have a disconnector between both harness unlike the GSRs.
the way we have done this swap is to use gsr main and secondary o2,cut o2 plugs
from the gsr and wire into the civic,i forgot which wire to disreguard-i can find out
if needed.remember you are using the gsr ecu so you need the 4 wire o2.

Just get the EX harness form a junkyard, that'll make things simple.

hum...i need this swap to be done by this weekend plus I don't know if my nearby auto salavage have a EX harness.
Second question... Larry and Trey, thanks for your info. The harness which the GSR complete swap i got stops at the engine side where it disconnect, I don't have the rest of the harness that goes in the dash to the ecu. So, looks like I either have to buy the other half of the GSR harness or get a complete EX harness. And regardless, I have to buy another o2 sensor.. Right?
So sad, why did I decided to do a swap on a HX...
BTW, is that mean the HX has a different wire diagram too on the ECU side since it has a five wire O2 sensor?

The 5 wire O2 sensor is a real pain in the ***. It is actually 7 wires at the O2 sensor, and goes down to 5 at the ECU.
The only way I got my car to work right was to use the seconday O2 sensor wiring for my primary. Then I got an OBD1 ECU to get rid of the secondary O2 sensor CEL.
You will need another O2 sensor, a 4 wire.
Get an Ex harness....plug and play. I got one at my house now, I may pull the motor next summer to do other mods, so at the same time I will install the Ex harness and might go back to OBD2.
Don't try and use the GSR harness. I will probably be more work then it is worth.
