Simple swap question...
For a 92 Civic hatch, If I have a JDM B16A 2nd Gen, complete with JDM mounts, shifter linkage, axles, tranny bracket it will be a straight drop in correct?
No need to buy a Del Sol rear bracket, etc.etc.
Just have to use the VX harness and plug and play??
And for the AC, can I use the JDM bracket with the D series compressor, or do i have to get the P54 Del Sol?
Thanks

You'll need to get a 94+ Integra or 99-00 Si rear tranny bracket. All other stock D series mounts will work (side tranny mount and driver side mount).
VX will be plug and play, but you need to configure to a 4 wire o2 harness. you'll also need to add knock sensor to the d3 pinout if you are using the p30 ecu, unless you are using a chipped p28.
For a/c you'll need a B series compressor and bracket.

If it's a 2nd gen then all the mounts are the same, no need for any other mounts. As for the ac bracket you can either get the del sol DOHC or just use the bracket that you already have; only the two bolts will fit but you won't have any problem

Nope.... the 99-00 Si rear tranny bracket is different and won't work on the EG. You only use the Si rear tranny bracket on the EK B-series swaps. On the EG chassis, use either the 2nd gen B16 JDM (EG6) rear bracket or one from a 94+ Integra. Otherwise, the rear bracket will throw off the position of the motor by quite a bit (like when using the wrong rear tranny bracket on a H22 swap
)

Thanks yo. When I did a GSR swap into an EG, we used the Integra rear mount, but he was telling me we needed the Si rear mount, but we got it to work. Wonder why it worked ?

Ok so, I can use the JDM rear mount, JDM axles and shift linkage, and if I want to keep the AC, get a P54 Del Sol bracket, and all 4 bolts will fir, or keep the JDM bracket and only two bolts will fit.
Correct??
Correct??
screw a/c! I was messing with mine trying to get it to mount up right then i remembered... It didn't work anyway!
So it went bye bye! And to think that was the only thing the car had to begin with!
Also, on wiring idk if your in the same boat i am but I was told a gsr harness is plug and play. Scrap the hatch harness and get a 96-01 gsr harness. Unless you like wiring, lots of it.

How do you figure lots of wiring??
I can use the stock VX harness, it already has the wires for VTEC, the only wire missing is the knock sensor, which I don't even have to run cuz I have a chipped ECU.

I'm going by what i had to do, but mine was a cx. and it got a usdm b16. You may have a completely different setup but i am just saying that with mine, it was not worth wiring the distributor, injectors, alternator, the 4 wire 02 sensor or any of that, But if your vx harness works on all of that then cool. I just noticed you are from canada. your whole damn car is probably different then mine!
I have a CX hatch as well, 92, which was prewired for VTEC, and when I put my OBD2 1999 CDM B16A in, all I had to do for wiring was use the CX harness, cut and solder the OBD2 injector harnesses, cut and solder the alternator plug, and cut and solder the distributor plug.
But, this is no big deal since I own a stereo/performance shop, and I twist wires all damn day anyways LOL.
Since the car was 92, it was wired for VTEC at the shock tower, so I tapped in there, and I ran the knock sensor into the car for the P30 ECU.
Now thats gone and I have the H22A, and for the harness, I used a stock 92 Si and cut and spiced everything I had to.
Works like a charm.
The worst one I had to do is fix a friends car (96 Civic, OBD1 H22A) where the Civic harness was cut at the shock tower, and the H22 was cut at the shock tower, so I had 50 or 60 some odd wires to splice together. Yay, 6 hours later it was wired and running.
Yeah and up here in Canada, our Civics come with Tim Hortons coffee dispensers built in the dash, and we have special storage under the car to hold our hockey sticks
