Default Simple Q: Shift Linkage

I'm almost done with my swap. Once I removed the shift linkage I didn't label the bolts, I have the new shift linkage in now, however the two connections that slide and pin lock on the tranny got me thinking.

So the other arm that slides on to the conector does not need a blot of any kind. Their is a bolt hole, should their be a bolt in here for some reason... Damn I need the B16 manuel, I have the civic manuel, but it doesn't help any...

Ah, the stock civic CX uses an 8 x1.25 mm screw, but the B16 does not need the screw?

if you're talking about the extension rod, it's a bolt that should thread into the other side of the bracket. if you're talking about the actual shift rod, you need an 8 x 20mm spring pin (aka roll pin, tension pin) I actually had to use a 5/16" roll pin cut down to 25/32" in length and a hose clamp (not the screw-type) that was 3/4" diameter. I had to use all funny-numbered pieces cuz i couldn't find any metric parts around here, other from the honda dealer that would take about 6 days to get the $3.00 worth of parts in. my shifter is a very tight but comfortable fit.

also, you need to use a tapered punch and a small hammer to install it because it will be a pretty tight fit...better than having that rod come off when you're driving...put the clamp on the rod first, leaving the holes open, of course, slide the rod onto the tranny, and punch the pin in. than put the clamp over it... sorry, i don't mean to explain as if i think you're stupid, but i'd feel bad if i didn't explain it right and messed up your job...

feel free to give me a call if i didn't explain it well.
