Default secondary o2 sensor question...

I have a 97 LS motor in my 92 civic hatch with a 95 LS ECU (p75). I know obd2 motors have a secondary o2 sensor. but I don't have one because...
1) my swap didn't come one
2)I have no wiring for it

do I need to hook a secondary o2 sensor up somehow? or since I have the obd1 ecu, don't even worry about it.

I'm not getting any check engine lights, but when I jump the ecu it gives me a code 2. which is secondary o2 sensor

i'm running a turbo on the motor so I wanna make sure the correct fuel is getting to the motor, so that's why I'm kinda worried.

thanks in advance...

i don't know what chart you are looking at, but the engine check codes for 0bd1 cars do not have a code 2 (i'm referring to the helms service manual troubleshooting codes) nor do they have a secondary o2 sensor, so your ecu should not be throwing that code. since you are not throwing a cel, and the code is only there when you jump it, it's probably just in the ecu memory and doesn't necessarilary (sp?) mean that your engine is throwing the code.

check the code again and make sure it's a 2 and not 20

well, it blinks twice, then sits for a few seconds and blinks twice. it just keeps blinking twice.

Clear the code and don't worry if your not getting a check engine light. 1995 LS is OBD1 and does not have a secondary O2 sensor. There is a code #2 for 1995 Acura's, but it is for the second O2 sensor on a Legend--the Legend uses an O2 sensor on each exhaust manifold. If you are getting two long blinks then you have a code #20 which is for the automatic transmission lock-up solenoid. If you are using an automatic ECU on a manual transmission, you will get the code #20.

hmmm...is it bad to drive a 5 speed on an automatic ECU? Also, the motor is not a 95, the motor is a 97, the ECU is a 95.

oh, I see a code 20 being an electrical load detector circuit. what does that mean?

My bad, code #19 is automatic lock-up solenoid, #20 is ELD. ELD is there to check alternator output. Clear the code-if it comes back, then start troubleshooting. There may be a pinout issue using a 95 LS ECU with a 97 engine harness. I will check the ETM's for these two vehicles when I go back to work on Friday.

I have a new alternator from auto zone, so I wonder if the fact that it's an alternator from autozone has something to do with the code 20. if it is a code 20, i need to double check. or it could be the battery, I guess, it IS the same stock one from 10 years ago.
