secondary o2 sensor.....is it necessary?
is the installation of the secondary o2 sensor necessary for a swap. i'm not sure if i should put in the secondary o2 sensor or leave it out? would it damage my engine or would i lose any power if i leave it out. if so, how would i go about installing it? could i use the sensor from my original engine (94 civic ex). there are four wires: two blacks, green and white, where would i hook it to. correct me if i'm wrong, the sensor would need to be install after the cat, right? thanks.

Hey bro, you could always just find an OBDI version of your ECU and just PLUG it in - no need for a jumper harness or anyextra OBDII crap like that secondary 02 sensor.

I run my 2nd o2 in the cabin of my car right next to the ECU.. It's purpose is to read the air AFTER the cat, and 'what do you know' it's 100% clean..
Don't worry that the o2 heats up a little bit, it's not enough to melt plastic or start a fire.. If u want to see for yourself, just touch one after u run your car for 10min.. no biggie.. just fyi

thanks for the suggestion, but i'm broke as hell and in a lot of debts and i don't want to go through the trouble of find the ecu and having to sell my converter and my ecu. i want to get my car rolling as soon as possible and i only have five wires from the ecu to make a connection for. i know i could get this done. i just need the info.

Re: secondary o2 sensor.....is it necessary? (PeloTudo)
i believe the primary o2 sensor is the one that is located before the cat. convert and the secondary o2 sensor is the one that is after the cat.

primary is the one loacated on your header, the secondary is located on the cat.
I believe what the o2 do is just to make sure your cat is doing it's job. as long as the reading from the secondary is better than the primary then it's good.
