Is it safe to drive with a torn engine mount?
My swap has been going on for an entire month, and the only thing I am waiting for is the mount that the a/c bracket bolts too (or through). I need to drive it to my friend's shop so I can have my a/c system discharged, and the correct compressor bolted up. I would like to do this as soon as possible.
Also, how long can you run a power steering system without fluid? I am waiting on the bracket that the p/s reservoir slides onto. I don't want p/s fluid spilling all over my engine bay.
Thanks for the input.
Edit: Let me clarify. The engine mount behind the drivers side front tire.
Another Edit: I don't know why I expect answers when I post in this forum.

So this is the upper driver's side mount, not the lower front one for the a/c?
It is probably safe to drive from one place to another. But I wouldn't drive it very far or very much. Just to where you need to get it fixed. If it is the upper rubber that is worn, see if you can wedge something in there to help it out.
If you are missing the lower front one, its fine to drive without it. I just wouldn't recommend hard launches on it. It will wear the other ones quicker.

You are talking about the lower front driver's side mount that bolts under the frame rail and onto the end of the A/C bracket I think. If so, you will have no problem driving without that mount. I wouldn't run the powersteering without fluid, but you could always remove the belt so it doesn't work the pump.

That is what I am doing. The belt I bought won't reach the PS pump wheel anyways. They must have sold me the wrong belt. I have the pump slid all the way to the bottom.
And it is the ac bracket mount.
