Re: rhd swap?
i hope you know you have a long road ahead of you..
cut out your firewall . weld in the rhd firewall
rhd steering rack / rear k-frame
install the new dash and the pedal assembly ..
bleed you clutch
and im missing alot of steps
while your welding you can cut your vin out and put urs in space of the other one?
not to mention paint and prep .. you might as well change the fuel filter .
time and patients ... its can be done

Re: rhd swap?
Usually you go to the highway patrol office near you and they run a check on your usdm vin, and upon completion of that (assuming everything comes back ok) they give you a another vin number in the form of a plate or plaque similar to the one on your dash. You have to have three v.I.n.'s on your car. One on the dash, one in the door jamb, and one under the hood. If you put the rhd firewall in you will obviously only have two that match. Well actually, you'll only have one that matches LOL. The jdm dashboards don't have vin's on them. If they did it wouldn't match anyway. What I did was remove my vin plate from my usdm dash and rivet it into the rhd dash.
I would stay away from welding your stock firewall vin back into the rhd firewall.
Beware though, some highway patrols will give you trouble, some will just do it for you.

Re: rhd swap?
I have been followed by the police and nothing happened.
I'm not worried because I still have all 3 oem factory issued vin's on my car. I moved the dash vin to the other side of the rhd dash though. When I did my conversion I cut underneath the firewall v.i.n. so it hasn't been moved or otherwise tampered with.

removing any vin in nys is an e felony its really up to u if u wanna take the chance and hope a cop dosnt know about these things but if we know they know no excuse u have is gonna save u cause touchin it at all is illegal if anyting try cutting around it and leave it in its place

1 possession of a removed vin plate
2 a defaced or painted over vin plate
3 possession of a vin plate that was not attached by manufacturer or dmv
my cousin got locked up for this **** believe me its a headache
