Redline Cutoff Question
Just a quick question, but not sure if itll be answered here
i have a 96 jdm itr motor w/ matchin tranny, and the power cutoff in 5th gear is around 7000 rpm...is there any way around this, cause it doesnt really seem to make sense to cut off there, its kind of arbitrary.
Is it different on the usdm itr?

That's not a redline cutoff that is the speed limiter. JDM ecu's will not let the car go past 180 km or 120 some odd miles per hour. That's also why the jdm cars come with the wimpy 180km speedo's.
Like others have stated there really is no reason to go faster than that on the street and it's probably a good thing it's on your car.
