Default Si swap

I have a 94 honda civic HB (cx). which is the slowest as most of you know. I am going to be droping a d16z6 into the car in the next couple of weeks and was wanting to know if there is a way you can bypass buying a new ecu and just wire my p05 ecu for vtech. or can i use a vtech cont. let me know what you guys think. Trying to do the swap right but not spend a lot of cash on things like ecu's rather than things like turbo's....
