Default rear stiffener.. important???

i have a b18b motor and it was originally an automatic. i converted it to a 5-speed and a bracket (rear stiffener part #9)is different. the rear stiffener from the auto is different from the 5-speed. my question, would it be alright if i did not install the rear stiffener? its a joint that connects the transmission to the block.

Short term you should be ok, dont beat on it too much tho.

Long term, dont know if you really need it?

i have never put it back on any of my swaps, roughly 10 swaps, it just gets in the way when you need to change your clutch and its stamped aluminum, not too strong, my 11second motor doesnt have one on it
