Re: Quick EG Engine Swap Question (mr_timluu)
Use the OBDII wiring harness if it comes with the GSR, it will plug into the underhood subharness. Only the EX/Si/VX trims, came prewired for VTEC in 93-95, so depending on the trim level of your civic, you may have to run the VTEC wiring to the ECU.
If for some reason it does not come equipped with the OBDII harness, you can use the OBDI LS harness. You will need to add the VTEC wiring and rewire/replace the distributor and injectors.
As far as the ECU goes. To keep the swap somewhat plug and play, you have a few choices, the simpliest being:
1. locate an OBDI P72.
or
2. rechipped P28.
If for some reason you are hell bent on using the OBDII P72, you will need an OBDI to OBDII adapter harness.
Both the rechipped P28's and adapter harnesses can be had through Kenji here on HT...
Good luck.
BTW: I'm really tired so somebody chime in if i left anything out...
