Default question on obd2a and obd2b compatability

i have a 96 obd2a gsr engine matched with a 00 obd2b civic ex wiring harness. i am getting spark, and fuel. the plugs for the distributor did not match up so i used the plug from the obd2a engine harness to match it to the distributor. there is one blue wire that will not connect to the disributor that i believe is for tachometer? well long story short. does anyone know of any additional wiring between obd2b and obd2b besides just matching the distributor wire colors up?
