quality of mounts question
so im puttin in my newest motor, my b20vtec in my crx......im just wanting to see if anyone has some input of these swap mounts:
basically will it make any difference to me???
the azrace mounts......$217 shipped
or these no-name brand for $159 shipped
the bottoms look shitty, but is it worth more?

Re: quality of mounts question (EgRedSi)
since money is an issue, I would go with HCP. HAsports are the best but they are like 2x as much as HCP. Everyone with HCP mounts says they are a great deal.
I really would stay away from cheap no name mounts. Its just not worth the risk IMO.

Re: quality of mounts question (H23vtecEG)
HCP = Quality
HASport = Quality + Bling
Most of the lesser brands are knock-offs of HCP that don't fit worth a damn. If you're on a budget go with HCP or if you feel like being brave, take your chances with a cheaper set.

Re: quality of mounts question (1993sir05)
ok well thanks everyone for your responses......i ended up buying the bottom set.....my reasons are:
1.) most everyone who posted negatively is not posting out of experience, more of a "honda-tech hype"
2.) i have NEVER heard of someone breaking the hcp mounts
3.) i also weld so if i run into any problems ill just fix it, i just did not want to have to re-create the mounts from scratch.
4.) i would rather "cut back" on the price of an external part of my swap rather than rods or some internal part. replacing the mounts is a 30mn process vs a broken rod being a destroyed motor.
5.) i just dont think its possible for 3 mounts to all fail at one time resulting in any damage.

sorry if i sounded like i was making a decision between rods and mounts, thats not the truth, i was only making a comparrison.....its easyer to replace mounts than rods
thats all i meant....thanks!

Re: quality of mounts question (VTECVillain)
If you want to save some bucks i would advise getting the HCP's. the bushings are lifetime anyways so theres nothing to loose if they were to fail on you. HASport is pretty good to but a little more expensive. Throughout this whole forum you'll see most of the HT'er are on HCp and HASport.

Ok so you're just gonna assume most of us are talking out of our *** and are just repeating stuff we read on HT. You really don't think any of us have firsthand experience? remember, this is the hybrid forum. Go ahead and get the cheap ****. I honestly don't know why you asked the question to begin with if you think we're all a bunch of lemmings

do you really think the only way your car could be damaged is if all three mounts broke at once?

Not sure what you mean by break, but I did rip apart the inserts on the rear mount of my h22/ek swap. Of course, this was in no problem with the hcp mount. Instead, I actually had a bracket bolt come out compeletely, and another blow out of the transmission casing.
Remember, these bolts were in the stock prelude bracket, not the hcp mount.

I hear ya, and believe it or not I wasn't offended. There are a lot of fanboys that come on here with little real experience. I just don't know why you asked the question if you already made up your mind. I think I'm confused, you're going with HCP now?

For $255 for a set. You can't go wrong. HASport's placement is arguably better, but for double the price, you better be ready to spend some cash.
