Default Q about EGR and H22...

Am I going to need to wire this up just to be on the safe side for emissions?

I can't get a straight answer

i don't know what texas emissions laws are, but i know CA. are tough. a friend told me he had to have his EGR hooked up in CA. but knows a shop, and gets away with not having it at all.. check out your local fixit shop and ask around. yellow pages could be your best bet.

this is true if you plan on passing emmisions you will need to have it hooked up in any state, but don't quote me on that!!

If you don't the ECU will throw a code.

I would hook up EGR to be on the safe side.

it is a mess of vacuum lines, and I certainly can't find anywhere to put it in the engine bay, you'd be better off with it hooked up.

To pass tailpipe test in CA, no you don't need it wired up. To pass visual and CEL inspection, then obviously yes.

FYI, my car passed (running very rich) with a Spoon P13, Hotshot 4-1 race header, and fuel pressure set kind of high (running an open-loop O2).... didn't pass worth a **** w/out a cat. We bolted on one and it passed with flying colors.... go figure.
