why not just do a minime? its cheaper and gives you about the same power at the d16y8, you just dont get the tranny.
The swap is easy, but not worth it if your just going y7-y8, just do the minime.

If your not doing a mini-me or getting a motor for hella cheap with a lot less miles on it than what you have, its pointless. Its a huge waste of time unless you want to have a project just to mess with. IMO you should do a swap to a B-series, if your going to do a swap, otherwise just mini-me the car.
I got the full Vtec head swap available. Click my sig

If your car has like 120k, or if you know that the new motor was taken care of in the same fashion, or better, then how you took care of your motor, then yes it would be a good idea. Its pretty much plug and play, except for having to wire vtec and getting a new ecu. Check the FAQ at the top of the page in the 92-00 civic forum and you'll get a lot of answers. $400 is a good deal for a whole y8 vtec swap so check to make sure they didnt beat on it or something. H.A.P. in my area charges $1.2k for the same swap.....just for parts.
