Default In process of getting swap...

I am gonna order a B16a swap as soon as money gets tranfered to my account,

anyways i have a ej2 (94 civic coupe dx non-vtec)

and my question is... will it all just bolt on w/o modifications...

also wiring vtec is not going to be a problem, i have a friend doing it for me

in addition is there a good reason not to get the jdm one over the usdm... i kind of like the extra horsepower, and will the parts be the same as the ones for usdm b16's?

You will maybe need to mix match mounts or some little parts but no cutting or drilling is required.

if you go jdm will it be the obd1 or obd0? Best bet is to go obd1..ecu will work, dizzy will plug up and injectors etc. if you go usdm b16 the chances are you're gonna get a 99-00 b16 which is obd2b so u need to change out some parts..unless you get the sorta rare del sol b16. Only advantage in getting 99-00 SI b16 is that its newer. The extra horsepower comes about b/c of the extra compression and they use higher octance gas.

the vtec harness will have everything except knock sensor. easy to run. just one wire to the ECU

The engine harness will be wired for vtec, but not the chassis harness. So you'll have to run wires anyway.

I wouldnt bother getting an ex/si harness. Save your $$.
Just run the 3 wires(vtec solenoid, vtec oil pressure, knock sensor) straight from the sensors to the ecu. Make is look clean, of course.

Are you replying to my post?

If so, it doesnt matter which engine you get.
You car has two harnesses. The engine harness and the chassis harness.

The engine harness runs from the motor to the strut towers where it plugs into the chassis harness.
Then the chassis harness runs inside the cabin to the ecu and up through the dash.

So even if you use an EX/Si harness, you would still have to run the wires from the strut towers(where the engine harness ends) into the cabin to the ecu. Plus the EX/si harness isnt wired for a knock sensor so you'd still have to run that wire straight from the sensor.
Just save your money and run them all from the sensors to the ecu.

Yeah.

Sometimes, you can reuse your stock cable if you modfiy the cable bracket. You just have to get creative.

get them both for a 95-97 Del Sol DOHC VTEC, make sure you specify dOHC vtec b16a3, or you will end up with d series ****

and that is everything else i need to get besides the swap, nothing more?

... radiator hoses (upper and lower) and a throttle cable?

also when installing... will the del sol parts fit perfectly?

how long does the throttle cable have to be?

parts will fit perfect, although you will need clamps for the radiator hoses where they connect to the radiator since inlets on your radiator are smaller. also I would reccomend you get a new timing belt, tensioner, water pump, and clutch.

gl</TD></TR></TABLE>well i talked to someone that i got the swap from the same place as me and he didnt have to replace anything... everything was working fine...

but another question i have is... if i take my car to a mechanic after i do the swap will they be able to fix it? or run the computer test on it?

damn guy we should start charging. im only saying this because ive helped you already but you are doing the swap that about half the people on h-t are familiar with and have done extensive writeups on. what you read is true. good luck with the swap because you dont seem ready. get the motor first at least
