ok heres what has happened.......... i have a 89 dx i had mpfi swap for a while now.. me and my buddy put the b18a1 in yesterday it started and ran ... but ran really bad threw code 14.. so i put a new iac valve on that i had extra still same crap..... my breaks go to the floor too no clue why .........so today i pulled my car in and was going to go over my conections again... i redid all the conections ... go to crank it and nothing it cranks like no tomorrow just wont start. i check for spark and none.... so i put a new igniter in and a new coil still no spark......... i have no fuel also.... i can t hear the pump turn on... im lost on the whole subject and have no clue what to do.... i was thinking it was my main relay but it started yesterday and this morning.........so yeah....... any help would be great.... thanks in advance......
OK.
I feel compelled to help this guy.
YOU HAVE A SERIES OF DIFFERENT PROBLEMS.
First of all. YOU CAR DON'T RUN!!! Don't look at the ECU, until you have straightened everything else out!!! You have NO FUEL. Can you check a main relay??
The main relay turns on the fuel pump for 1.5-3 seconds before/during start. This all depends on who you are asking. mine runs 1.5 seconds.
Second, all your wiring connections are made properly, I assume. Do you have SPARK aka IGNITION?
Is your distributor turning? (OH LORD I DONT WANT TO SEE THIS ONE AGAIN) There was a car where I am from where the guy didnt line up his distrib. and simply put longer bolts in to hold it. TAKE THE CAP OFF and look inside. Look at the ROTOR. I have seen more abuse, and halfassing to these parts than just about anything else on the cars.
Your BRAKES (not breaks) go to the floor? FIND OUT WHY. Is the Vacuum canister hooked up? It looks like a cereal bowl upside down. Made from metal, has a large vacuum line coming from it. Is there fluid in the master cylinder? IT HAS A SCREW ON CAP, AND BOLTS TO THE BIG BOWL LOOKING THINGY CALLED A VACUUM CANISTER.
If that is empty, FILL IT, Bleed the air out of your BRAKES, and keep on trucking. This is not for sissies or wimps, it takes time, and has to be refilled about every 3rd bleed cycle. DO THIS AT EVERY TIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Email me if you have any other questions
