Problems with GSR Hybrid....
Here's the deal. The car doesn't like to run anymore, symptoms.....
Jumpy Tach
Misfires like a big dog
Extremely Rich
Melted the cat
Possible causes........
Faulty injector(s)
Bad distributor
Bad ECU
Tried...........
Different distributor
Different ECU
Going to swap out the cat and go from there.
What I do know.....
Plugs are not fouled
Car ran great for the longest time
A/F gauge read rich for about 2 days.
Any other ideas???

hmm...what do you mean by "the af gauge read rich for 2 days"? What are your mods? Have you done any kind of work on the engine recently? Is the ecu throwing a cel? did you try different plug wires when you tried a different distributor? it definately sounds like an ignition problem..did the distributor come from a good running car?

Re: Problems with GSR Hybrid.... (Willis)
We swapped to a known good dist, mine. (this is my buddys car btw). We also used a different good ECU.
No MIL codes from this, but It did have a MIL of 20 (ELD) before all this happened. And corrected the problem. Or maybe not?
Anyways, it doesn't throw a code now.
GSR block, ITR pistons, DC GSR header, custom cat (was custom) everything else stock.

did you swap over your plug wires too when you swapped distributors? my friends car had the same exact problem...last thing we tried was the plug wires, and that was it. Sounds like it just needs a tune up...cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires.

Re: Problems with GSR Hybrid.... (Willis)
Brand new wires, cap, rotor.
Well I got the car running, and the tach doesn't jump around anymore. I'm just hoping it was a fluke, and the whatnot.
I spent 4hrs checking the distributor, ecu, plugs, plugwires, coil, mapsensor, tps sensor, crank sensor, tdc sensor, etc,etc,etc......
What a bitch................
