problem with my b20b. HELP! (long)
whats up.
ive got a b20b with LS throttle body and intake manifold. i found out that there was a crack in between the throttle body and intake manifold. like the gasket was in place but a piece of the gasket was missing. the car wasnt getting enough air. so when i was to gun it under 3500 rpms, it would have crucial lag and pull back really hard. so a friend and i changed the gasket to see if that would solve the problem. and btw, when i could gun it, the "check engine" light would come on. check'd the LS ecu and its throwing the o2 censor code (blinked once).
my friend and i change the gasket. but the car was revving high. like about 1500 rpms. check'd to see if there were vacuum lines disconnected or what not. everything seemed ok, but there is a cut on the plastic of the intake. cover'd that up and it was still revving too high. i managed to get home, but it was a bitch driving it. now, the car had been sitting around for a while and its really cold here. turn the car back on last night, it cranks, revs from 2000-3000 rpms CONSTANTLY going up and down and it would then cut off. so the car starts up, revs like a bitch and cuts off! what could be the problem? cold valve starter? wiring? the cut on the intake? misfiring? any help would be appriciative. thanks in advance...

whats the code its throwing...the number....
could you have possibly messed with the idle control screw on the throttle bodie on accident?
anything wrong with IAC valve....(back of manifold, right near throttle bodie)
anything wrong with TPS?....(on backside of throttle bodie)
hope i could help,
chris

check to make sure you have the right throttle body gasket. apparantley there's a few different ones to confuse with. i tried getting one through manchester honda, who supposedly knows what they're doing..they sent me two different b20 tb gaskets, and both of them were wrong for my b20 TB. hth
