Default poor mans type r, piston and rod choice

I am building a poor mans type r with this setup

95 gsr block
gsr crank
p30 pistons
99 b16a2 head

My question is, since i am using the p30 pistons, can i use those rods or do i have to use the gsr rods, or is there any difference?

Vtec fuel pump will be good and type r and GSR head torque should be the same. If you use factory bolts use factory specs, if you use ARP bolts/studs use their specs.

yes, you NEED to use GSR rods with your P30 pistons if dumping everything into a B18C block. If using a B16A block, then you'd use B16A rods. B18C blocks have a 7mm taller deck height thats why they have longer rods.

What's model HOnda do you own?

thanks everybody, i finished ripping the b18c1 block apart today and i'm gettin the p30 pistons tomorrow, i can't wait to finish it. btw the reason i'm building this is because i melted piston number 4 with my turbo setup.

wow, it's interesting to think that the only difference is 7mm. That 7mm ends up costing you so much more!
