please help with this swap, d16y7 MPFI into 89 dx DPFI
someone please help me out with my swap
im putting a d16y7 (converted to obd1) into my 89 dx that had a d15 in it.....
so the d16 has the mpfi and the d15 had the DPFI in it
my question is, what wire harness to i use for the mpfi conversion? modify the d15's harness? or modify the d16's existing harness??
i know i have to get the conversion kit for obd0 to obd1.... already ordered
so what do i do?? could someone please help me out, and if anyone has dealt with the conversion harness im getting... how the hell do the plugs from the motor plug into the cars harness? does the conversion harness make that possible??? or what
if anyone has ever done this kind of swap PLEASE HELP!!!... please PM...

Modify your stock DX harness.
You can use the D16z6 harness for it's wiring.. injector run and distributor plug, O2 plug etc.. You steal the plugs from it and use them on your DX->MPFI harness.
When you cut out the injector run remember not to cut anything but the yellow, brown, red and blue wires. The red/black wires go to the injector block off plug and should be kept intact and just removed from their loom. No cuttin necessary. Give yourself a foot of extra length on those colored injector wires so you don't have any issues with the length of the injector run.
To get you started, do this:

This is the first step. Think about the other sensors you need to run while you've got your harness stripped down.
- leave the loom on just open it when you need to take wires out or put them in
- never cut a wire that you can de-pin.
- Learn to de-pin
And if you've got the money to spend, have this all done for you by us at Rywire.
