Painting engine bay
Just got done painting engine bay with a color that I soon will have my whole car painted with, my question I did not use any type of clear coat do I need to or is it fine without the clearcoat? thanks

the clearcoat will protect to it better and help keep it cleaner
not necessary but i would recommend to hit it with a clear coat

it's not necessary to use the clear coat but yes it will offer some protection. I'm using VHT flat black engine paint for my engine bay. no issues here and no clear coat either.

thanks for all of the advice, I was gonna do the flat black engine bay and I agree it does look sick but I finally went ahead and painted it to color match.....I've got one other quick question....Do I have to use any specific clear coat or will anything work? thanks

well since it's in the engine bay I would recommend something that can handle the heat the engine will produce in there. VHT makes the best stuff I've seen so far, those stuff Autozone, Pep Boys, etc... usually flakes off thru time.
