Default P30 - no VTEC on an OBD2B B16A2

I have no VTEC with a P30 with OBD2B conversion cable.

Engine is a Euro 2000 B16A2

Im getting codes:

4 - CKP - crank position sensor
21 - VTEC spool solenoid valve
22 - VTEC pressure valve

Now I knew I'd get 4. But with 21 & 22 I understand that it's because my engine doesn't have the oil pressure switch?

I linked on the ECU the 2 together, which should make it work ok shouldn't it? Going by this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=869811

I'm really stuck, the car runs ok, just with no VTEC!

Thanks alot, any information appreciated!

Nick

Ok if you dont have enought oil in your motor the Vtec wont kick in. And if you motor is not in TDC the Vtec wont kick in. Have you did any movement on the crank where the cams didnt move by chance? i just ad the same problem. the CKP sensor HAS to be Lined up right with the crank. If it is then you might have a bad sensor.

The reason you are throwing both codes is due to having the non-pressure switch solenoid while the ECU is looking for it. You can easily wire around the non-pressure switch VTEC solenoid's to fool the ECU making it run safely and CEL free. You can also swap the solenoid for one with a pressure switch. Either way that should correct the problem. If you want need the wiring info just let me know.

I found out about the IAC issue after I posted, so wired in an earth!

Thanks for the response though!
