Osaka H22a Engine
Over this winter I wanted to save up and finally swap my engine. Its not that im low on cash, I just cant get alot quick. osakajdmmotors.com has h22a swaps for 1850. If I purchased that swap, with all that stuff included, what ELSE would I need. from what I see in the search, axles are something I will need.
Would it be worth it to get the GSR ($2700) instead? I'm debating between the 2.
any help would be great. Any other things I will need other then what they supply with the swap. thanks

after the initial purchase of the engine, you're going to need to have ~$1,000 to $2,000 to get EVERYTHING else and get it right. Although you could do it a lot cheaper if you really tried.
It's well worth it though...IMHO.
Especially over a GSR (stock for stock)
Axles- $300-$500
Mounts-$300-$500 depending on kit
So for about the price of a GSR, you can have all the parts to PUT the motor in. Then you can worry about replacement parts on the engine...which you'd (most would) do on the GSR too.
Don't forget suspension and brake upgrades!
BTW, I've heard that Osaka Motors does not include the shifter assembly and shift cables....something you really need if it's going into a Civic/Integra etc. You'd want to look into that before you order.

osaka said that it came with mounts, but for an h22a I probably have to get better ones. The suspension is half way to ready for any engine swap. I need to get higher spring rate springs. and I think my konis will do just fine with it. brakes, would be more of an investment. thanks for the info
Dont forget the $20 bucks here and there at your local Kragen for hose clamps, electrical tape, wire, oil, antifreeze, and blah blah blah........that was the hardest part on my swap.......
yah.. and u can use that same 20 on some more bolts, hoses, clips, and all the other lil shiet.. that if u order at honda, they never have it and u have to wait 3+ days to get this small lil stuff.... but uh.. h22 sounds good to me

So it's not a matter of getting better/new mounts or anything of that sort, it's a matter of getting a mount KIT
HCP and Hasport both make great kits. Same with the axles..the ones that come with it are of no use whatsoever to you.
heh, It comes with mounts....Stock Prelude mounts, which are of no use to you.

Yo dude I wouldn't recomend Osaka, I went there and they screwed my friend and I, the engines arn't very good they've been sitting in junkyards for along time and aren't maintained, go somewhere else if I were you. later
Let's see here, your 5th post, and ALL OF THEM ABOUT HOW BAD OSAKA IS! For all we know you might have some vendeta against them or something, but start doing some more helpful posts, that might help us believe your story, before you start badmouthing people.

Sitting in Junk Yards....????? Do you have any idea of where we even get them in Japan? and how would anyone on this planet know that they are not maintained with out going through every one of our motors??? If you can answer that, you are from a higher place then earth.
